Fitness profile

I am a certified STOTT Pilates Instructor, CYA-IR Yoga instructor and Personal trainer. I currently teach group and private lessons in many locations thoughout the GTA (see class schedule)  I began studying exclusevly with STOTT Pilates attaining my mat and reformer certifications, as well as specialty training in pre and post natal, barre, stability ball, flex band and fitness circle, and stability chair.  I currently teach Pilates, Yoga, Fusion (yoga and pilates) Barre fitness, belly dance, PIYO, TRX fusion, Pilates reformer as well as private personal training.

I began my journey with dance as a child. I have been dancing since the age of 5, training in Ballet which I extensively studied for over 10 years. After taking a few years off, I was drawn back to my love of dance by being introduced to belly dancing. I was immediately hooked and started training, and I have continued belly dancing for the past 10 years as an instructor and a performer.I have studied in Toronto and California with world renowned dancers: Kami Liddle, Rachel Brice, Ariellah, Mira Betz, Samantha Emmanuel, Badia Star and Yasmina Ramzy in various training and technique workshops .

I have also completed numerous workshops to further my fitness experience such as: STOTT golf conditioning on the reformer, STOTT athletic conditioning on the stability chair, STOTT reformer resistance training, Primary and secondary series of Ashtanga Yoga, Pre and post-natal Yoga, Mandala Vinyasa Yoga, Advanced Hatha Yoga, gravity GTS, TRX, PIYO Live and Barre. I am constantly continuing my fitness education with various courses and workshops to progress in my knowledge as an instructor and trainer.

A healthy diet goes hand in hand with any fitness regime, and thats where my recipes originated. I love to cook and realized by making everything at home, I can ensure only the best ingredients are used  and none of the bad stuff gets into my diet. Once I became gluten free I began playing around in the kitchen, creating both sweet and savory dishes on a healthier tip. This enabled me to eat the things I love, but in a healthier way. Naturally once I had my daughter Lennon, I started doing the same for her, as I wanted her to have a good start with healthy eating habits. This also enabled me to know exactly what she was eating instead of relying on packaged baby foods. Now I'm not a superwoman, so the recipes I create are pretty easy, and most of them I make and freeze so they are readily available when Im on the go. Whenever I have a few hours in between my classes, or when Lennon is sleeping or entertaining herself, I make whatever I can and pop it in the freezer.

I believe in living and promoting a healthy lifestyle and as an instructor it is my mission to motivate, challenge & inspire you to better yourself, be healthy and active! Life is too short to count calories, and everything is best in moderation. Allow yourself those glasses of wine or that occasional cupcake, if you can get yourself on a regular healthy diet and make it a lifestyle, theres no sweat in indulging once and a while... well actually, a little bit of extra sweat to burn it off!
